Lauren Elizabeth Graves died peacefully following a long battle with breast cancer on Monday, January 30, 2017. She passed away at her own home with her family by her side in Canyon Country, CA. She was born on October 24, 1958 in Parma Heights, Ohio to Robert and Shirley Graves. She graduated from Orrville High School in 1976 and received an Associate’s Degree from the University of Akron, Ohio in nursing. In 1997, she married William D. Harley with whom she remained loving friends with while raising their children, Gillean and Emma. Lauren worked as a registered nurse for 37 years in Ohio, Illinois, and California, most recently for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She lives on through her daughters, Gillean Kaye Graves and Emma Elizabeth Harley; her grandson Wesley Timothy Loock; three sisters, Lynn, Leslie, Lee Anne Graves and one brother Jeffrey Graves (Mary); her mother Shirley Graves Weber (Ed Weber); William Harley; her best friend of 23 years Joann Kimmel; stepsisters, Yvonne Ruesser, Kathleen Metzger, Ruby Weber, paternal and maternal aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Linn Graves and her grandparents. Anyone who knew Lauren knew her kind heart and how much she loved her family. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. A memorial service and viewing will be held on Friday, February 3rd at Crippen Mortuary, 2900 Honolulu Blvd., La Crescenta, CA 91214, (818) 249-6131.
