Lauren and I go way back. In more recent years, we talked a lot about her biggest fear was leaving her girls. Gillian, Emma and Wesley, you were her greatest joy. Always know she fought for you and did everything in her power to be here for you. Let your wonderful memories comfort you in the days ahead.

I don't have a single memory of Lauren when she wasn't smiling, so many happy times.
A pajama party in 7th grade that included jumping on the beds. I'll never know why Mrs. Graves (then) didn't throw us all out. Another sleep over in the playhouse staying up telling ghost stories and playing strip poker with Jeff and a friend, no worries we each removed shoes and socks and then all agreed to chicken out. Lauren was the only friend who would come see me in my childhood home; she could see past my dad's gruff exterior and always spoke to him. She loved animals and would go out and play with our outside dog Mack. We grew up, graduated and went our separate ways, but stayed in touch and visited whenever we could. I remember when she lived on South Vine Street explaining how she used a dish scrubber because her farm sink was so low it bothered her to bend over and she chided me that I didn't have that problem. In 1980 Lauren came to see me before she left Ohio. I'd just had my third child and she brought a lovely set of baby blankets. I still remember her telling me, with tears in her eyes, how she longed for a child, and it struck me that there she was, sharing in my joy. Years later I received a beautiful Christmas card with the joyous news that her dreams had come true; she was the mother of the most beautiful baby girl! Christmas cards and letters were slowly replaced with the demands of family and work. Then on my 52nd birthday she surprised the heck out of me by calling and singing happy birthday to me. Skip ahead to her illness and surgery which caused her to miss our 35th class reunion. It broke her heart but when she was strong enough she came home. A fellow classmate held a reception in her honor, at her home and the turnout was very large! I will never forget how radiant she was and as always concerned with everyone else and seeking updates on years lost. That day she agreed to model a line of fair trade wool scarves I was selling on eBay, we met several days later at Leslie's home with Mrs. Weber there also; we all had a lovely time on the patio as I took pictures. I was always in awe of her statuesque beauty and peaceful grace. She really was a sight to behold. (I will submit some of those pictures here).
Thank you Lauren for being my beautiful, sweet, loving, lifetime friend! I will miss you always sweetheart!
I'm sorry I posted this in condolences, but it was too long for the memory section.
