Obituary of Nancy Jean Chase
Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy Chase was born on August 13, 1955 in Glendale to Harold and Jean Roach. She was the youngest of three, with older siblings Pat and Jim. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at home on March 25, 2022 after a ten year journey with metastatic breast cancer. Her faith in God remained strong and she continued to live life to the fullest.
Nancy grew up in La Crescenta, enjoying the small town feel and surrounding hills. Growing up her family instilled a love for travel, sports, and music. Nancy bled Dodger blue from a young age, listening to Vin Scully on the transistor radio as a young girl. Those who knew Nancy would say she was a triple crown contender to lead the league of life in smiles, laughter, and overall kindness.
In 1985, Nancy married Curt Chase, enjoying 36 years of marriage. They have resided in La Crescenta their entire marriage. Together they have boy-girl twins, Kevin and Amy. Nancy loved being a mother of twins and attending all of their many activities. They attended Holy Redeemer/St. James parish where Nancy served for years as a eucharistic minister to the sick and homebound. Family gatherings that included any or all of her eight nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends always brought a smile to her face.
Travel was always a joyful part of Nancy’s life. The Chase family has traveled to countless national parks with Glacier, Yellowstone and Acadia being among her favorites. Nancy enjoyed taking the lead in planning the trips. Some of her favorite destinations were New England in the fall, the Canadian Rockies, and the Central Coast of California.
The service for Nancy Chase will take place at Forest Lawn Glendale on Tuesday, April 19th at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Nancy would be pleased if a donation would be made to City of Hope to fight breast cancer.
