Obituary of Jayne M Beck
Please share a memory of Jayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Friday July 17, 2015 a most beloved mother and grandmother, Jayne M Beck, entered into her eternal life in heaven. Jayne was 95 years old, and family had gathered just 10 days earlier to celebrate her birthday.
She was the last surviving sibling of her deceased three brothers and one sister. Jayne was born in Scottsville KY, and after making homes in Grand Rapids, and Gross Pointe, Michigan, she and her husband Robert "Miltie" Beck settled in the foothills of La Cescenta in the early 1950's. They both referred to the Angeles Crest Mountains as "their mountains" and they loved their home, which was a constant gathering place for all their friends and family.
Jayne was a devoted parishioner of St. James the Less Catholic Church, and was a member of a long standing prayer group, known as the Rosary Group. Jayne worked for many years at JPL, and enjoyed watching the space program grow, as well as making long standing friends with co workers and bosses alike.
She is survived by four children, Bob Beck (spouse Kathy), MargueriteBeck (spouse Pam Briggs), James Beck, and Marybeth Kober (spouse Ron Kober). She also was the proud grandparent of 7 grandchildren, and great grandparent to all of their children, to whom she is affectionately known as GGB.
Jayne was known to always have a smile on her face and would strike up a conversation with anyone she met. Waiters, cashiers, fellow patients in waiting rooms, or just passerbys on the street or in the stores. Her charm and kind words were always complemented and well received, and just knowing she could make someone's day a bit happier made her the fabulous woman she was.
We will miss her sweet smile and loving spirit, but she will always live on in all of our hearts.
