Dearest Friesen Family,
We are saddened by your loss.

To the Friesen Family,
Our families have been intertwined over the years. Don often told us about the camping adventures that our families had together. We, the kids, did not know all the problems that Don and Mel had to solve on the road. He loved to tell us stories about solutions to these issues.
Don was a visitor, he would often stop by our home in Sunland since Carol was sleeping readying herself for the night shift. One particular day we were going to make an arch from our kitchen to the dining room. Out came the big sledge hammers and we each took swings until the passage was finished. He was amazed that it could happen so fast.
Don had a big heart, an easy laugh and love for his family. He will be missed, but always a part of our lives.

Most of my memories of Uncle Don are of his wonderful girls! A testiment to the way they where raised. Of course I remember the amazing Toy Train set up in what we would now call Don's "man cave" . He also had a model T dog catcher truck. I remember a night all us kids got in the back of the truck and Don drove through down town. It must have been Christmas or Thanksgiving because I remember the town being lit up with beautiful lights. The back of the truck was a chain link like enclosure so we where safe but we could also disturb the peice by howling like dogs as we rode through the streets. So magical!
I also know that Don made sure my mom had good washing machine. He was very generous to his family.
In later years Don and Carol paid David and I a couple of visits. It was fun to get to know them a little as adults. They where still so sweet on each other. Carol would brag on how Donny was too generous at times. Don's laugh was one of the most pleasant I have ever heard. And I remember the great singing and the joy he had.
The world was better place for having Don in it and his legacy will continue in his children, grand children, and I would like to say, his neices and nephews. Thanks for being a great example Uncle Don. You wlll be missed.

Dear Paula and family members,
How saddened I was to read the news of your father's passing into his next life. Although my faith tells me he will be celebrating his life forever with our Lord in heaven, I know how much he will be missed here on earth by all those who loved him. I agree with your words that there is great comfort in knowing he will be with your mom in heaven. At this time, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will continue to pray that your hearts will be filled with peace and comfort as you go through this loss. You are such a close knitted family and have wonderful families of your own as you create your own legacies. Your father's greatest purpose has been fulfilled as he left a legacy, the legacy of his five wonderful daughters who carry his spirit, his kindness, and his compassion for others.
