Jerry was a dear and close friend to me during the two years since we met and I will miss him greatly in the years to come. During the regular conversations that we had since we met, I came to know Jerry as a person of great intelligence and considerable achievement. A man who loved his family deeply and someone who was generous in his friendship. A proud father to his daughter Pamela and loving husband to Renata. As Jerry's friend I was welcomed by his family whenever I went to visit and I will always treasure the happy times I had in conversation with them. Conversation with Jerry was wonderful and ranged from scientific discussions to politics, family, history and life in general. His curiosity and intelligence during our 'chats' always left me uplifted and looking forward to our next meeting and I would often have 'subjects' ready in my head to discuss with him. I can't describe the loss I feel by his passing.
Our deepest sympathy to Renata and Pamela.
