It seems like only yesterday (1994) when I was a young inexperienced probationary officer in Devonshire, and I jumped in the car with one of the "coolest" veteran officer I have ever worked with. "Jack" as he was called, showed me a thing or four about being a policeman in the City of Los Angles with the demeanor of a true hero. I'm forever thankful, it was my exposure to you that has formed me into the officer I am today. My condolences to the Lafko family. RIP Sir! and Thank You!

To live in hearts we leave behind, Is not to die...Jack, you remain in the hearts of those you loved, and those that loved you.
I only knew of you through Carin and for just for the last few precious months but I know you dedicated your life to service and that you were thought of in the highest regard by all that knew you.
Fly high in the Heavens Jack and rest easy in the knowledge that those you left behind hold you close in their hearts. <3

Jack, rest in the arms of Jesus. This poem is for you Jack.
a Thousand Winds.. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awake in the morning bush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die.
Carin, you have made his last few months bare-able and his final days your love and care for him let him go in peace... He will be waiting for you at the pearly gates... Much Love, Judy
