Obituary of Tiffany Hopper
Please share a memory of Tiffany to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tiffany Lee Hopper, 47, of Sylmar, California (formerly of Taos, New Mexico) passed away suddenly on October 25, 2013. Tiffany was born in La Mesa, California to Charlotte and David Hopper on November 26, 1965. The family moved to Taos, New Mexico in 1970. Tiffany graduated from Taos High School in 1983 and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to pursue a nursing degree. After successfully completing her studies at TVI, she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She then moved to Northern California.
After spending a few years in Northern California, she and David "Doda" Williams moved to Los Angeles where she was employed as a Nurse and joined "Doda" in the band Vizualize. The band regularly played the Sunset Strip in Hollywood at classic rock venues. She left nursing and became a legal secretary (her day job). Vizualize toured in New Mexico and played at Old Martinez Hall in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico to a very enthusiastic crowd of family and friends. She was the "Legs" of the band. Doda is still a very close and trusted family friend.
Tiffany was then given the opportunity to study computer sciences in Northern California. She received training as a UNIX Administrator and traveled to China as a trainer and an educator in her field. She relocated to Los Angeles and was hired by Pop.com which became Countingdown.com, a movie fan website. While with Countingdown.com, she hosted "Bagelcam," an interactive website on film locations for movies such as AI, The Tuxedo and others. The job at Countingdown.com led to her employment at DreamWorks Animation as an IT Systems Engineer where she worked for many happy years and created some very special lifelong friendships.
Tiffany was an amazing, beautiful, generous, "big brained," funny woman and her loss cannot be fully comprehended by those who know and love her.
Tiffany is survived by her mother Charlotte, father David, sister Rebecca and niece and Goddaughter Trinity Lee, Grandma Sadie, aunt Randie Uranga Gonzales (John Gonzales), cousin (who was like her little sister) Alicia Fields (Brian T. Skinner); cousins, Marin, Ruthanna, Henry and Galen Hopper. She also leaves behind family members Duane, Deborah and Donna Hopper and their families, and her uncle John Fields. Tiffany’s family would also like to recognize her dear friends Barb, Pam, Kel, Susanne, Pali and countless others who were touched by Tiffany’s amazing spirit.
She is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Joseph J. Uranga, her paternal grandparents, Jay and Marjorie Hopper and her uncle Dennis Hopper.
