Obituary of Ricky Parsons

With heavy hearts and unbearable sadness we announce the passing of Ricky Howard Parsons Sr., age 52, who was known throughout the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles area. Family patriarch and lifelong friend of many, Ricky passed away at 1:53 AM on Friday March 8, 2013. Ricky was loved by many and will be missed by all. Ever-caring and compassionate, his greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren. He also had a passion for and was employed for several years in assisting veterans through difficulties. Ricky spent several years sharing his experience, strength and hope. He loved those in need until they learned to love themselves. He beamed with pride on the accomplishments of all of his family members and so looked forward to adopting his wonderful step-daughter Dominique whom he loved dearly. Ricky was born in Taylorsville North Carolina on May 1, 1960 to Howard and Irene Parsons. He served with distinction in the United States Army as a Hawk Missile Crewmember from June 8, 1979 to June 3, 1982 including tours with 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC. Medals earned include the Army Service Ribbon, Expert Ribbon (Rifle/Hand Grenade), Overseas Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Irene Parsons, his infant daughter Nicole Marie Parsons. He is survived by his wife Renee (Mischeaux) Parsons, his former wife Veronica (Parsons) Chavez, his two daughters Celeta Ayala (Danny), Yevette Soto, his son Ricky Parsons Jr. (Connie), stepdaughter Dominique Mischeaux, brother Larry Parsons (Toyoka), two sisters Chere Parsons and Carla Abraham (Fred), brother-in-law Tyrone Mischeaux (Margareth), sister-in-law Cassandra Mischeaux (Andrew), seven granddaughters, Veronica, Heaven, Lynn Marie, Lisa Monet, Kali, Symone, Danielle and one grandson Ricky. Ricky leaves behind a host of loving family members including several nieces and nephews in California, Florida, and Wisconsin; Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends from coast-to-coast.
